Explication Essay

Steps for designing an explication essay:

  1. Do explication map
  2. Thesis = general theme
  3. Minor premises - meaning clusters
  4. Support: detail, ambiguous phrases, metaphors, etc.
  5. Conclusion - thematic questions
We will be writing an explication essay on Astrophil and Stella.
